Meet Dr. Lundquist

Dr. Lundquist

Dr. Lundquist was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Edina, MN. He attended Brown University in Providence, R.I., earning a degree in Biology, and, more importantly, meeting Martha, his wife of 39 years! He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and began his post-graduate training at the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis as a surgical intern. Six and a half "quick" years later he had completed the General Surgery program there and moved the family to Kansas City, Missouri, for his continued training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Working with Dr. Fred McCoy at the Truman Medical Center and the University of Missouri - Kansas City, he completed the plastic surgery residency program two years later. Finally, 17 years after high school, he was ready to get to work!

He joined Lyle Kragh, MD in private practice in Minneapolis in 1983. Dr. Kragh immediately retired (!), and Dr. Lundquist continued a solo practice in plastic surgery until 1990. He then merged his private practice with Hennepin Faculty Associates (HFA), and continued to work with that organization until 2009 - nineteen years working again at the trauma and teaching hospital, HCMC, where he had taken his General Surgery training many years before.

In April 2009 Dr. Lundquist made another change in his practice. Leaving HFA, he opened a new private practice office in the Southdale Medical Center in Edina, MN. In addition, he continues to maintain an office at the Cambridge Medical Center in Cambridge, MN where he first began seeing patients some 8 years ago while still with HFA.

As a completely new venture, he has also joined with the Fairview Hospital and Clinic system to open satellite offices at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, MN and Fairview Blaine Clinic in Blaine, MN. The hope is that these varied office locations will make it easier for patients to see Dr. Lundquist where it is most convenient for them.

Dr. Lundquist practices what he calls "general plastic surgery," enjoying both reconstructive cases and cosmetic surgery cases. He treats both men and women. He treats children and "seniors." He is fully trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery and has been "board certified" by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1984. This is the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He maintains his credentials and privileges at many local hospitals and surgery clinics with ongoing continuing medical education.

His special interests include breast reduction and reconstruction after mastectomy, the surgical treatment of skin cancers, and scar revisions. Cosmetic surgery interests include treatments for the aging face like facelift and eyelid tucks (blepharoplasty), breast lifts and enlargement, "tummy tucks," liposuction, and body contouring surgery after weight loss.

Hobbies include an appreciation of photography, an on-going struggle with bluegrass banjo and other musical pursuits, and the yet-to-be-achieved conquest of golf. His reading appetite is currently being fed with Barnes and Noble's Nook. Family trips back to the East coast have been a priority for many, many years.

Dr. Lundquist and his wife, Martha, still live in Edina, MN. Their five grown children and four grandchildren (so far!) live in Iowa and Minnesota.
